Bud, Not Buddy is written in first person point of view. In these excerpts from the novel, you can see how Bud uses "I" and "Me" outside of quotations. "I picked up a box that was about the size of a big thick book and slid it under my seat," (page 134). " I slapped my hand over my mouth, I knew better than saying something like this out loud but it just fell out of my mouth before I could swallow it down," (page 156). "My eyes opened and I could see the sun behind the branch of a Christmas tree," (page 45). "The only thing I could hear was my own breath," (page 21). The author chose the most appropriate point of view for this story because the story is from Bud's perspective, and most of the plot revolves around Bud.
I was
very satisfied with the choice of this point of view and I enjoyed the way the
author chose such an amazing character for the story to be told from.
